Happy 2007! Although time is an abstract, and arbitrary in reality, the new year does provide a nice point for reflection and change. Time to review backup procedures? For your personal machine (think digital photos)? Time to hunker down and dig into a topic that you've always wanted to learn? It's time.
MacWorld, by all accounts, was a success. I had the opportunity to meet many readers of MacTech Magazine, give two presentations at the IT conference, take some further training on Marketcircle's Daylite and Billings, get the scoop on the iPhone, meet with vendors on the show floor, and...whew, It was a busy week!
I'll be uploading the slides from my two presentations shortly. Additionally, this was an historic year: all presentations were recorded, and are available on a single DVD, or a la carte. Check it out at Macworld Encore.
One of the coolest presentations during the week was given by Amit Singh, who used the presentation to teach, and announce that Google had ported the FUSE libraries from Linux over to OS X! We'll be covering FUSE in the March issue of MacTech, thanks to Dean Shavit.
Macworld Expo was a truly wonderful way to start the year: seeing old friends, making new ones, advancing your own knowledge, and being able to sit in the pocket of that 'comfort zone'. Happy New Year; here's to a prosperous 2007!
Thanks!
Thanks for everything Ed.
It was a pleasure meeting you at last!
See you in New York!
