Macworld 2008 "Wrap"

Every Macworld attendee typically comes away from Macworld with something that they personally dig very much. While there were a lot of great announcements at the show, there are two in particular that stand out to me:

1. Garmin reenters the Mac GPS market.

2. MacSpeech licenses the Dragon speech engine.

Both announcements are significant as Mac users have typically gone to Windows solutions for both of these categories. Particular to me is the MacSpeech announcement. I've already mentioned "Naturally Speaking" as the best speech recognition solution on the market - and my disappointment that there was no OS X version. Well, now there is! iListen has gotten close...closer than ever, but still missed the mark set by Naturally Speaking. Press release here: MacSpeech

Garmin will be updating and releasing their products over the upcoming year (2008). Press release here: Garmin
